Akamai Mentor Summit

This gathering will bring together alumni of the Akamai Mentor Workshop to:
Create Products
that share lessons with other mentors
Recognize Mentors
and their accomplishments
Develop new ideas
for improving internship programs
Strengthen
the Akamai mentoring community
Roundtable with Observatory Leaders
As part of the Summit we will hold a special session in which observatory leaders are invited to join and learn about how Akamai has been so successful, as well as the broader impact on observatory workplaces. This session will be on Friday, May 1, from 2:30-5:00 PM, followed by a reception.
Summit participants will work in teams of three along with Summit organizers to create vignettes and scenarios that illuminate how themes from the Mentor Workshop can be applied to “design” a productive intern project. Products created at the Summit will go onto our new website, Mentoring By Design.
The Summit is made possible with funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the National Science Foundation (AST#2034962), and ISEE’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.
